It is incredible what political simpletons Obama and Kerry are. They shut their eyes to one of the most elementary rules of life, that you must not “meet halfway” those who do not want to meet you. (Paraphrasing Ze’ev Jabotinsky, “The Iron Wall November 4, 1923”)
On Saturday July 18th, four days after Iran agreed to the P5+1 deal where the United States gave his country every nuclear concession it wanted, plus ( I hear) a lifetime supply of ketchup from the company formerly owned by John Kerry’s wife, the supreme leader of Iran went back on the attack inciting hatred against America. U.S. Secretary of State Kerry called the leader’s attack disturbing, as if this hate speech was all new to him.
It was during a public sermon to mark the end of Ramadan, when Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reaffirmed his country’s hatred of the U.S. and Israel, and propagandized that the United States was behind the terrorism in the world (translation and video below are from MEMRI):
The slogans of the Iranian nation on Al-Qods Day show what its position is. The slogans “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” have resounded throughout the country, and are not limited to Tehran and the other large cities. The entire country is under the umbrella of this great movement [of “Death to America”].[…] What, [the American politician] are calling [Hizbullah] territories?! They call Iran a “defender of terrorist” because of its support for [Hizbullah]. Defenders of terrorists?! It is you! You are the ones who have created ISIS! You are the ones who have been cultivating terrorism! You are the ones who have been nurturing the filthy terrorist Zionist! You are the defenders of terrorists, and you should be brought to trial for supporting and assisting terrorism.
The adoring crowd responded with the traditional sweet talk:
“Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Khamenei is the leader! Death to those who oppose the Rule of the Jurisprudent! Death to America! Death to England! Death to the hypocrites! Death to Israel!”
John Kerry reacted to the Supreme leader’s incitement in an interview with the Saudi-owned news network Al Arabiya:
“I don’t know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that’s his policy. But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it’s very disturbing, it’s very troubling, and we’ll have to wait and see,” the Secretary said.
Disturbing? Troubling? Wait and See? Holy Cow! Khamenei’s words were not new, he was making them before the negotiations started, and he was making them during the negotiations. Heck on the Friday before the deal was announced millions of Iranians took part government incited anti-Israel and anti-US rallies across Iran and now John Kerry finds that kind of talk disturbing?
Urgent! Somebody call the Washington Post because John Kerry’s paper boy hasn’t delivered a newspaper in the past two decades or so. Or perhaps it’s his wife Teresa’s fault, maybe she hasn’t paid the cable bill since Kerry ran for President in 2004.
Mr. Kerry it’s time to wake up and smell the burning American Flag, this is nothing new. Hatred of America and Israel is a national sport in Iran. No really. I bet they even have a hate America rally pre-game show on Iranian TV. The Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei not only is the key decision maker in Iran, but he is the “commissioner of the American hatred league.”
Are John Kerry and his boss President Obama that naive? Did they honestly believe once they signed the agreement the despotic terror-supporting Iranian leaders would change their ways, give up their nuclear ambitions, and join the boy scouts so they could help old Jewish ladies cross the street on their way home from Synagogue on Saturdays? Or do they think the American people are stupid enough to believe in a changed Iran.
The American people are too smart to believe the nonsense Kerry and Obama are pushing to gain approval of the bowl of cow dung also know as the P5+1 agreement. The only question left is are the people we voted to represent us in House and the Senate smart enough (or non-political enough) to see through the mendacity.
