Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has published a new book called “Palestine,” a 416-page tome against the Jewish state. The back-cover blurb credits the Supreme Leader as being, “The flagbearer of Jihad to liberate Jerusalem.” A picture of the front cover of the book is at the bottom of the post.
Khamenei makes his position clear from the very beginning of the book— Israel has no right to exist as a state.
In the book, the leader of the country President Obama made a nuclear agreement with describes a war of attrition to force Jews out of their nation, by continually harassing the borders and making everyday life difficult for citizens.
According to the New York Post:
Khamenei insists that he is not recommending “classical wars” to wipe Israel off the map. Nor does he want to “massacre the Jews.” What he recommends is a long period of low-intensity warfare designed to make life unpleasant if not impossible for a majority of Israeli Jews so that they leave the country.
His calculation is based on the assumption that large numbers of Israelis have double-nationality and would prefer emigration to the United States and Europe to daily threats of death.
Khamenei makes no reference to Iran’s nuclear program. But the subtext is that a nuclear-armed Iran would make Israel think twice before trying to counter Khamenei’s strategy by taking military action against the Islamic Republic.
The Supreme Leader also talks about Iran’s support of anti-Israel Terrorism:
“We have intervened in anti-Israel matters, and it brought victory in the 33-day war by Hezbollah against Israel in 2006 and in the 22-day war between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip,” he boasts.
Khamenei describes Israel as “a cancerous tumor” whose elimination would mean that “the West’s hegemony and threats will be discredited” in the Middle East. In its place, he boasts, “the hegemony of Iran will be promoted.”
The UK Daily Mail adds that according to the rogue nation’s leader he is not calling for the destruction of Israel because of anti-Semitism, but because of “well-established Islamic principles.” The most important of which is that once a land that falls under Muslim rule, even briefly, can never again become a non-Muslim land even if the majority of inhabitants are non-Muslims. As the Daily Mail points out the Supreme Leader’s theology taken to its logical conclusion, would see a huge chunk of the globe, including parts of Europe (especially Spain), China, Russia, India and South-East Asia ruled by an Islamic state.”
Another reason to boot Israel off the map according to Khamenei’s book is that Israel is the “ally of the American Great Satan” In fact he says that Israel is a key element in America’s “evil scheme” to dominate “the heartland of the Ummah [Muslim lands].”
There are those who contend that the reason Obama pushed so hard for the P5+1 agreement even to the point of making a bad deal is the president believes a deal will encourage Iran to moderate. Judging by the Supreme Leader’s new book, it is very doubtful moderation is on the collective minds of the Iranian leadership.
